[Win/Mac] Cloud synchronization

[Win/Mac] Cloud synchronization

Setup

  1. In Options (Preferences on Mac) > Databases click Actions for desired database and choose Configure cloud.
  2. Choose cloud from the list of supported
  3. Authenticate your cloud account and allow Safe access to it.
ℹ️ Configure the same cloud account and set the same password in all Safe instances on all your devices you need to sync.

How it works

Once the cloud configured, your data is safely stored in your cloud. Learn more about data security and cloud database location.
Safe automatically syncs with cloud at app unlock and 1 minute after any data modification. For manual synchronization, click Sync on the toolbar.
If data modification has been made since the latest sync, all cards will by synced to the latest state on all synced devices.

Troubleshooting

In case of sync problems Safe shows warning icon and Resolve button at the bottom of label panel.
Most sync problems can be easily resolved using the following steps:
  1. Check out "Password mismatch error" article if such is displayed.
  2. Check your Internet connection
  3. Check that you have free space on your cloud account
  4. Restart the computer
  5. Switch the cloud sync to None, then back to your cloud and reauthenticate
  6. Try using another cloud
  7. Try again later – the cloud might have temporary issues
  8. Make sure your security software (anti-virus, firewall, etc.) doesn't block communication between Safe and your browser during the authentication process (via local ports). Try to disable such software temporary, or add Safe as an exception to their settings
  9. Check your system proxy settings (disable proxy or set bypass for local addresses)
If the sync problem persists after these steps, please contact our support with problem description and sync logs (Help > About > Show log)
