[Android] Passkeys: Setup

[Android] Passkeys: Setup

IdeaPasskeys are a secure and convenient way to log into accounts without using passwords. Instead, they rely on cryptographic keys stored in a password manager or on the device. SafeInCloud supports Passkeys on Android, allowing users to easily create, store, and use them for logging into websites and apps.

To set up Passkeys, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure your device runs Android 14 or later, as third-party password managers like SafeInCloud can only store and use Passkeys starting from this version.

  2. Update SafeInCloud to version 25.0.0 or later from Google Play.

  3. Enable Autofill:

    • Open device Settings.
    • Go to Passwords, passkeys & accounts.

    • Tap the Change button under Preferred service.
    • Select SafeInCloud and confirm the change.
  4. Change Autofill method in Chrome :

    • Open Chrome on your Android device.
    • Open Chrome Settings and go to Autofill Services.

    • Choose Autofill using another service and confirm the selection.
    • Restart Chrome.
