[Android] Compromised passwords

Compromised passwords are passwords previously exposed in data breaches. This makes them insecure for ongoing use as they're at much greater risk of being used to take over other accounts.

How to check passwords

Select Security in the bottom tab bar and tap Check button to start a new search for compromised passwords in your databases
On the Check Password screen tap Check to see the number of compromised passwords found
ℹ️The resulting number shows only unique passwords breached, the resulting list of cards can contain more cards having the same passwords.
Tap Show to see the cards with compromised passwords on the Security tab

ℹ️For this check Safe uses the well-known and trusted website haveibeenpwned.com with over half a billion leaked passwords database. Safe does not send any of your passwords or their hashes, instead, a k-anonymity approach is used to ensure your security during verification.
