[Android] Cloud synchronization: troubleshooting

[Android] Cloud synchronization: troubleshooting

Most sync issues can be resolved with one of these steps:

  1. Check your Internet connection
  2. Try using another network (Wi-Fi or mobile)
  3. Verify cloud account storage (you may be out of space)
  4. Restart your device
  5. Switch cloud sync to “None,” then reselect your cloud and re-authenticate
  6. Try another cloud (e.g., from Google Drive to Dropbox)
  7. Try again later (the cloud service might have temporary issues)

Passwords Mismatch
If you see a “Passwords mismatch” warning, it means the local and cloud databases use different passwords. To fix this:

  • Manually set the same password for all SafeInCloud instances on all your devices.
  • If that doesn’t help, tap the warning icon and choose one of two options:
    • Set the phone’s password to the cloud database (you need to know the cloud database password)
    • Overwrite the cloud database with the device database (this deletes the existing cloud copy in favor of your local data)

1. Can I switch cloud services later?

Yes. Go to Menu → Settings → Databases and select a new provider. Your data will transfer automatically.

2. Does syncing use mobile data?
It can if you’re not on Wi-Fi. Adjust your Android settings to limit or allow data usage.
